london awning window. Pergolas come in all shapes, sizes and materials from the traditional wood to contemporary steel, aluminium and Sunbrella fabric. They provide a stylish shady alternative to the usual parasol, the only disadvantage is they cannot be moved around the garden as easily and do take more time to assemble and take down. The wooden pergolas combine with a seat making an ideal hideaway in a sunny corner of the garden; growing sweetly scented climbers and adding some containers of scented plants to give you a secluded calming seating area. Curtain sides are available for the metal structures giving you a bit of privacy and protection from the sun when it drops a bit lower in the sky. They can be fixed to the ground and the solid roofed types can be left up almost permanently, just make sure that they are taken down in strong winds and that snow is not allowed to accumulate on the roof.
